Evenement type

Dear beautiful and curious you,

We’ve longed to come together again for a deepening tantric afternoon before going on summer break. We have been busy yet we’ve sweetly missed sharing the tantric practices that are dear to our hearts. And we’ve missed our tantric moments community as well as meeting new participants curious about the tantric path. From this joyous longing sprouted this last minute workshop. Although it is very suitable for newcomers, we will build on practices around consensual touch that you might have some familiarity with if you’ve attended our workshops before. We will have a whole afternoon to deepen further and melt in delicious body presence together.

In ‘Embodied touch’ we ground through somatic awareness. Led by subtle sensations we come closer or take space. Honesty becomes a bridge to deeper connection. Boundaries are our pathways to trust. We explore the healing power of touch within parasympathetic activation. When the body is regulated both our desires and boundaries become more clear, our communication more direct and our touch more present.

We intend to at least provide a relaxing day with nourishing connection. However we hope you will find these simple yet profound practices as transformative as we have. When we slow down and let our bodies move to the rhythm and pace of our desires and boundaries, magic will happen.

Everybody who is interested and willing to listen to their body is welcome, no matter their prior experience with tantra, background, gender and orientation, whether you attend solo or in a couple. Please carefully read the (specific tantric afternoons) guidelines, especially if you are new with us.

The workshop will be facilitated in English, on Sunday July 19th from 13.00 to 18.00, walk in at 12.30. Bring your own snacks, some light vegan snacks and tea will be provided.

VERY IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT THE LOCATION

Since this is such a last minute workshop, we strive to at least cover our costs. This means we might switch locations if we do not expect a big group. This is also why we are offering a very low Committment ticket price, so that we can better estimate the size of the group. If all goes as planned we will have our session at Edanz. If we are expecting a smaller attendance we will have our session at Helperpark 300. We will clearly mark the location 2 weeks before the workshop in the workshop title and event text on hipsy, the website and social media. So if you bought a ticket, put a reminder in your phone to check the location on time.

With love and devotion,

Gigi & Nectar

TANTRIC AFTERNOONS General guidelines and practicals

GUIDELINES

To create a safe and ethical space together where we can flourish, share intimacy and vulnerability, we have created some guidelines. They are  intertwined but for clarity and overview we have dissected them into 5 main topics. If you join this workshop you agree to respect and uphold all of the following guidelines:

(1) PRIVACY

“What happens in the tantra workshop, stays in the tantra workshop”. We ask you to be mindful about sharing your experiences with others outside of the workshop. You may share only about yourself and your own private experience and not about others you’ve witnessed or practiced with in the workshop. Not by name or any other way that others may recognize or infer their identity.

When doing practices in duo’s or groups, ask for consent to share about your partners before sharing their experience in the main group.

(2) SAFETY & CONSENT

We ask for consent before going into touch or intimate interaction. We respect consent and the fact that anybody can change their minds at all times.

You take care of your own sense of safety. This means you are connected to your boundaries or aware when you are not. When you are not connected to your own boundaries you’re able to speak up, pause or take space.

We will offer different tools to make this easier for you, like a time-out zone where you can always retreat to (you still remain in the workshop space but you can take some rest to connect to yourself). There are spaceholders present to co-regulate with you or support you when you don’t need space but support to reconnect to yourself. All instructions and practices can be stopped or altered at all times when your boundaries change. You are always encouraged and supported to speak up or take space when you need to.

(3) RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOURSELF

Every instruction is a suggestion. You are your own boss and you’re always free to step out or do the practice in a different way that is more aligned with your personal boundaries. You are responsible to be aware whether you are or aren’t connected to your boundaries and needs. If you are unsure if you can hold that responsibility, please contact us beforehand (we might be able to support you to navigate this in a way that is safe for you and the others you might practice with). You will be invited and reminded to check in with yourself, ultimately you are the one making decisions about what you do and allow to happen in the space.

As previously mentioned, when you are disconnected from your needs and boundaries, you have the option to self-regulate and self-connect in the time-out zone or ask for support from a spaceholder to co-regulate.

You are also NOT responsible for anybody else than you. Sometimes participants can get triggered or emotionally moved by what happens in the workshop. They get to ask for support from spaceholders themselves if that is wanted. As a participant you do not need to rescue anybody. If consent is asked and given, participants can co-regulate or support each other but this is not the norm.

(4) FREEDOM

You are on your own journey. We explore and experiment with behaviours and experiences that can be out of our comfort zones or outside the scope of our usual patterns. This can be scary and vulnerable. So we want to emphasize freedom and invitation to play with that and ’try different things on’. You are free to try out and play without it meaning anything about who you are and we ask you in return to let others be free from your judgements about how they show up in the workshops. We are free to make mistakes (as long as consent is respected).

We also  want to emphasize that this is not a dating platform. You may have meaningful and intimate connections during the workshop. It can be tempting to attribute the specialness of the experience to the other person or your chemistry together. We again try to stand by “what happens in the workshop, stays in the workshop”.

It can be seen as spiritual practice to refrain from adding meaning and stories to your experiences with others in the workshop. It can be really freeing to let yourself be intimately seen by somebody you connect with, without a follow up outside of the workshop. Or to let yourself share sensuality as a way to understand, reflect on and get to know yourself better. Not necessarily somebody else or the start of a story between you two. It both asks for a degree of inner freedom as well as offers freedom to experiment and explore in this way.

(5) CLOTHED AND NON-SEXUAL

To create a safe container we hold clear boundaries. We focus on reflecting on experiences rather than being taken over by them. Sexual energy is powerful and has a tendency to take us over quicker. We aim for more awareness and presence. When sexual energy arises in a workshop, it is welcomed and noticed but never acted on in the workshops.

We want to acknowledge that tantra is often associated with sex in the west. However it is a spiritual path that uses ALL aspects of life to explore life itself, including, but  certainly not limited to sexuality. It is a path that helps you recognize and control different forms of energies, again including but not limited to sexual energy. Only a very minor portion of tantric practices are actually related to sexual activity. We want to offer you a taste of tantra as a spiritual path as a whole. The tantric path starts with becoming more sensitive to energy other than sexual energy, it starts without sex.

We stay fully clothed although tops may be lifted (not taken off) for massage purposes if this is relevant to the workshop.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Most of our participants come by themselves. If you are not comfortable working with strangers, you can bring a friend or a partner to practice with although some practices might be in groups.

Prior experience is not needed. All genders, orientations and backgrounds are welcome. We aim to be as inclusive as possible. If you have specific access needs, please reach out. If you’re motivated to practice but money is an issue, please reach out. Although we enjoy an exchange for the costs we make and to some degree our time, we do not do this for income. We are dedicated and devoted to share this path that has enriched our life in far greater ways than financial.

Please always wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move in. Bring a water bottle, pen and paper or a journal.

We look forward to share Tantric Afternoons with you!
